About Chef Tamara

It all began in her mother’s kitchen…

Euzumeh (ah-zoo-meh), the Arabic word for invitation, is a casual pop-up created by Portland chef Tamara Hattar. Tamara grew up eating the food of her parents’ native Jordanian background.  It was there she witnessed her Mom, Grandma, and Aunts create delicious and beautiful home cooked meals for the whole family to enjoy.

Her path has lead her to the kitchens of restaurants such as San Francisco’s State Bird Provisions and local Portland favorite Ava Gene’s. With a desire to share the comforting flavors of her family’s Middle Eastern cooking, Tamara began recreating some of her favorite dishes with the Portland community.

Tamara’s love for food and travel transported her temporarily to beautiful Joseph, OR, where she delighted the rural community with several pop-ups.  She eventually took over the winter menu at The Gold Room while the Chef-owners tended to their newborn baby girl! Tamara now takes pleasure in doing pop-ups and catered events all over the state of Oregon.
